We were walking beside the flood prevention channel in Exeter, when we spotted this pair of Grebes and their youngster swimming along. All of a sudden there was a flurry and the youngster had disappeared - it had climbed aboard one of the parents.
Next thing we saw was the other parent chasing a Cormorant..............goodness, they can move fast! All we could really see was the Cormorant and Grebe 'porpoising' down the channel!
When the Cormorant was far enough away the parent came back and the family swam quietly around, glaring at all the gulls!!
Not the sharpest of images (compared to some on here), but what a memory and I thought I'd share!
