A well knotted bit of rope
to secure their little boat.
With a plastic blue sleeve
to stop the knot slipping I believe.
And thanks to Lifesnapper for his award
ah didny expect any reward !!
A very nice color combination, and what a clever way to protect the rope!
It has a feeling of opposition and strength, it is as if they're fighting against each other.
Superb compo, texture and amazing clarity.
Blue plastic sleeve 'neath a complex knot
And some twisted wire that you forgot,
A ring, a bolt, a concrete wall,
A Saturday Shadow to please us all,
Let's not forget the compulsory rust,
As the RAS boss, I guess you must,
But here's a challenge for you today,
Give us just one image without decay!
Knot forgetting the rust, Mick Carol
A super knot Mick , and lovely rust too, a lovely clear sharp shot. Smashing shadows.
Best stuff Patty
Love all the previous comments Mick. Great shot. Peter.
Ye're a poet
And we didna know it.
Alternative title - Get knotted... Love the tension in this.
Bondage Division, R.A.S.,
Has lately been a bitty mess:
With loads of locks and strings of rope
And hordes of hawsers, on the slope
From ship to shore, you might have thought
That pictures of a ship in port
Would be enough to satisfy
All rusty tastes. But Mick and I
Have had some diff'rent fish to fry:
The road to War has been my study
In recent weeks, while my Leith buddy
Has spread his wings and felt he must
Photograph other things than rust.
But here and now the die is cast:
Our Mick's decided at long last
The way to activate the slouches,
To get them leaping off their couches,
Get out and exercise their brains
By seeking out and snapping chains,
Is - peacefully to sit at home
And write his intro as a pome!
Clearly needs a knot making course...it's either a knot or NOT
- great image Mick and for the poetry - Didn't they do well!!!
Hahaha...excellent...first the poetry, then the shot, then the comments you've inspired
The poems here are just way too good
I won’t bring out my Pen
I see you did the same right here
And used your G11
Poems now for a reward on an interesting image
brilliant Mick but sorry my poems don't rhyme...so instead
great shot..and get yourself untied...weekend you know
Fine composition Mick, excellent detail captured,
Can't better Lynne's comment in poetic form and with which I totally concur, Mick.
So good to see you back and posting on a regular basis.
A great shot, Mick, and some Saturday Shadows, too! Like your bit of poetry....
Excellent image Mick and what about Bill's 'pome'?
Saturday shadow as well - aren't you the clever one?
A lovely colour and textured image Mick
Good comp' Mick and of course, great subject matter.
You're very welcome when it comes to UA Mick, that really was a great image.
think I must echo Ronnies sentiments here Mick am away noo fer fish and chips and a good pint ot ale
Even your poetry's a bit rusty! But suits.
OMG !!.....the lad's into 'bondage' now ???????? ......impressive detailing !!
laughs galore today ....
Entertainment abounds here, Mick!
Nice diagonal good bit of rust and enough colour to tickle ones fancy

I am all tied up in knots just reading all the comments...a great shot Mick
Two R's Mick! - Rope & Rust! PERFECT!
A really beautiful and original shot with a great shadow as well...
No Poet laureates here but a well composed abstract.
A wonderful capture Mick plenty of rust, grot and colour and to make it 50
Very appealing composition of shadows and rope,
which for for many more rusty photos makes us hope
LynneJoyce You must take up the challenge Mick But a great photo
Still in aboot the rust and grot I see Mick . Moira
A rusty ring, a bit of wire
is just all of Mick's desire.
Add some rope, a bit of plastic
Makes the image sheer fantastic.
Too much of a challenge I would say,
Is for Mick a shoot without decay!
Things rotted, knotted, rusty, muddy
They are Mick's objects of study!
Whell, at least I tried to write my comment in rhymes.
Silly, silly... but aye, it's Sunday.
It's poets corner here Mick, you should start a poetry group! I can't beat what Lynne, Bill and Johanna have said so I will just say well done old chum
