There were some very good entries for the film themes competition and choosing a winner was a tough decision. The shortlist was made by Peter Bargh and Tracey Johnson and between them they came up with the following four winners:
In 1st place is Aleksey Lapkovsky for his representation of the film The Ring. This is quite topical as The Ring Two has only just been released at the cinema. Very dark and moody shot...just like the film.
2nd place goes to Gavin Buterin for applying a treatment that's been seen in the galleries before but made it topical to the subject...it's good to see that photographs are being taken for the competition rather than just submitting a picture from files.
3rd place goes to one of Peter's EC choices from way back, by Paul Willows. This photo was posted when the site wasn't as busy, so sadly, like many of the earlier works, it didn't get the credit or clicks it deserves. A great shot showing interesting use of Photoshop.
4th place is taken by ePHOTOzine regular Magda Indigo. The Italian job is an old favourite and the classic mini inside an Italian flag does the film proud.
Well done to all the winners and runner ups. Commiserations to all the other entrants and good luck with the next one.
