It wasn't the easiest to judge as there were many great photos that caught the white side of life. It was, however, easier to discard ones where white was just an incidental aspect to the photo, or where white had become blue, grey or cream due to exposure or colour cast issues.
But then deciding whether to select an overall white shot that was a subtle as a sledge hammer or go for something more subtle was the challenge. In the end the judges' eyes fell on the cycle path sign by katieb. We like the huge impact on this highly skilled black & white conversion. The main cycle icon as the centre of attention and the striking lines mirrored at each side create a bold frame. So not the whitest of the competition, but technically one of the best.
Well done to all those with short-listed entries and good luck next time to all who enter our latest competitions.
