A good selection of images were submitted for this competition but a surprising low count from our landscape photographers, who would certainly made it to the shortlist.
The winner is Goran Stamenkovic who's entry was chosen for its ethereal quality that summed up the theme great outdoors. The expanse of tree branches span the sky leaving a perfect gap for the crow positioned on the upper third. Well balanced and interesting shot that has an infrared feel.
2nd place is taken by David Collins for his landscape shot of that famous Blackrock cottage. It's one of the most photographed scenes on ePHOTOzine, but this one has a great balance of light, shot just before what appears to be an approaching storm over the mountain. The shot has a painterly feel and is truly wonderful.
3rd place goes to one of our wildlife enthusiasts, Lyndon Parkinson, for his study of a kingfisher. It's razor sharp, perfectly exposed and positioned well in the frame with good choice of aperture to throw the background out of focus.
