One! New Year, New Competition!

It was very hard for the judges at PhotoArtistry to pick the winners of this competition, and as we only had a 1st and 2nd prize, they couldn't help awarding a few Highly Commended to other images that simply blew them away. Here's what Anne at PhotoArtistry had to say:

1st Prize: PhotoArtistry Acrylic Sandwich Block No Flowers by seanslevin

We really love the lighting on this one. There is a real focus on the subject which comes not from the person behind the camera but from the window. There's a sense of something old and forgotten.

2nd Prize: Stretched Canvas Print Give me shelter by Ex

We really loved the colours and perspective on this one. The detail in the foreground gives the picture a rich texture and the tracks just draw you to the building in the background. The sky is beautiful. A lovely spot for romantic poetry.

Highly Commended

Sinless – This is simply beautiful and serene. There is a sweet innocence in the face which has been beautifully framed with the drapes of the headscarf. My mind goes to Gaza and the innocent children there.

Tattoo - This is a great shot with great, even diffused lighting.

Solitary Beauty - This child is simply stunning, her eyes draw you in and she seems wiser than her years.

Mac one - This is a great action shot which has been beautifully captured. You can almost hear and feel the action, the sound of the bike and the energy. We all liked this because we were all drawn into the action.
