A comprehensively reprocessed different version of the image I posted in my portfolio a couple of months ago. http://www.ephotozine.com/user/pcwillows-9283/gallery/photo/the-milky-way-is-on-... That one was processed form a single image.
This one is made up of ten exposures of different lengths and ISO's processed through DeepSkyStacker then Photoshop. It took me an awfully long time to process as I hadn't used DSS before and it was a bit of a learning curve. I said back then not to expect any newer versions in a hurry!
I'm still amazed this end result came out of my camera and more so that it was taken in the UK. I've had it printed on a huge poster now and it sits on my office wall.
Taken around 1am on a crystal clear August night in Scotland with thanks to my cousin who wandered the pitch dark woods with me despite suffering with pain from his illness. There was no way I was going in there on my own. I dedicated the original image to him and do so again this better version as sadly he lost his battle with cancer the week before Christmas.
Hope you have a decent view of this wherever you might be now mate. RIP.
