It was a lovely day especially for October, so I thought I would head up to the Highlands with my dad and my brothers.

My plan was to head for Glencoe Lochan, stopping at a few spots along the way, and head to Loch Etive for sunset.

The weather was looking good during the drive up (The forecast for Glencoe looked promising) but we saw a lot of cloud forming just past Buachaille Etive Mor and did not have much hope for any sun..

We arrived at the Lochan mid-afternoon and were there for 10 minutes, and the sun appeared, giving some cracking light on the trees. This is one of my few attempts to capture the light and this beautiful place. I know it's appeared a lot from me, but this is one of my favourites from here..

Certainly worth the 370 mile round trip.

Many thanks for looking.

A superb capture presumably using a 10-stop filter. The colours are so beautifully defined and the cloud movement is delightful. Well done.
