The Great Court was opened on 6 December 2000 by Her Majesty the Queen, the result of a £100 million project to open up this space to the public. The roof canopy is constructed out of 3,312 panes of glass, no two of which are the same.
This image was stitched together from 11 hand-held shots, taken from the first floor viewing gallery. Given the amount of movement by the people at ground-level, I have applied some serious cloning to get them all in the right places.
