A shot of my youngest son, who very kindly posed for me yesterday. know I'm taking my life in my hands uploading not only a mono image but also an image totally out of my comfort zone Smile.

Thank you all so much for all your C&C's very much appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Hugh

A wonderful portrait Hugh.................I am itching to do something similar when I can persuade a willing sitter.

Having only recently delved into the ...Dark Side.....of mono work and learned how to use Contrast Grading via layers and soft brushes to pull out the best; I would suggest that you have a go...................there are a whole range of tones in the portrait just waiting to be tweaked to their richest range:

Well deserving of that U.A. A strong portrait, well posed, well lit, excellent tones and nothing extraneous.

As in the case of the wedding project Hugh, you seriously underestimate your capabilities. This is b----- good ! Excellent lighting, pose, and composition. What's more, you managed to get one of your offspring to pose for you !

I am absolutely hopeless at this sort of thing and have given up completely on portraiture: if this is outwith your comfort zone I can only say you have made a very fine job in capturing your son in such an excellent portrait, Hugh. The lighting could not be better. Indeed a very well deserved UA.
Ronnie.
