Thanks for the great response to this competition we had well over 1000 entries and a fabulous array of wildlife and nature pictures from incredible macros to sweeping vistas.

The winner will not be to everyone's tastes, not because of the quality, which is out of this world, but the subject - a spider - can be a bit of a phobia for some. So we hope you can hide the phobia for a few moments and enjoy the high definition image that's beautifully lit, perfectly exposed and razor sharp...oh and the colour's not bad either. Second place goes to Yung who's made the most of our winter landscape with this perfectly balanced treescape. The tree etched with snow really is eye catching splendor and natures elements at their very best. Yung wins a Skyborne 51
