The company was founded in 1970 as Introphoto, the sole importer and distributor of Hoya filters, a product line, which has been, and still is, the brand leader for the highest quality photographic filters in the United Kingdom. Since 1970, Intro 2020 has grown to become one of the leading distributors of photo, optical and digital equipment in the United Kingdom.

There are now 25 brand names in Intro 2020's range of products, these include many household names within the photographic industry: Tamron lenses, Cokin filters, Velbon tripods and Crumpler bags to name but a few.
