York Camera Club was established in 1952 and is affiliated to the Yorkshire Photographic Union (YPU). This lively and friendly Camera Club has established a reputation for producing a high standard of colour and monochrome images in both digital and 35mm format.
The Club welcomes everyone with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for photography, from beginners to serious amateurs and professionals alike. Club evenings consist of a mixture of open competitions and photographic talks. Some excellent speakers, including established professional photographers give talks covering a very broad range of topics, some of which include practical sessions. Monthly open competitions provide ample opportunity to exhibit your work within the Club and to appreciate the work of fellow members, whether in printed or projected presentation.
York Camera Club meets on Thursday evenings from September until May, at St Lawrence Church Hall, Lawrence Street, York, YO10 3BP, from 7.30 pm, where both visitors and new members are made most welcome. A summer programme of outdoor activities also takes place from June to August each year.
