With large buttons, clear menus, a NIKKOR 3x optical zoom lens, 6.7-cm (2.7-in) LCD screen, HD video recording and fun in-camera filters, anyone can take great shots and movies with the confidence that this camera can withstand knocks and be taken practically anywhere. Waterproof down to a depth of 5 metres, shockproof from up to 1.2 metres height and dustproof, it is built for active use at home and on holiday, and encourages capturing pictures from new places, such as in the pool or on the beach.



A symmetric body design ensures the S31 is easy to handle and fits comfortably in any pair of hands. The flash is in the centre, while large, dedicated one-touch buttons for taking a photo or filming a crisp 720p movie are on either side of the camera, to avoid little fingers getting in the way of a great shot. Clear menus with bold, colourful icons make it simple to navigate through functions, even for children. Automatic anti-blur technology ensures sharp shots of the fastest-moving friends or relatives, and once the perfect picture has been captured, fun in-camera filters can add an extra special touch, such as a Fisheye effect or Selective Colour.
