I like the feel of the camera, its solid and responsive, however other than functioning as an expensive travel compact, it's not really up to the reviews. Yes the HD video and sound is good, but the still photos really let it down in all but the brightest conditions.
To come up with a half decent shot you need to forget the auto and scene settings and go full manual mode on the lowest ISO. According to Panasonic, it's a trade off for high pixels and optical zoom on a small sensor, for quality stills they suggest the DMC-LX5.
The GPS is a nice idea but again, not reliable putting the actual location up to 10 miles off course, it also eats the battery if left on. 70 shots on a charge as opposed to 300.
I can live with the TZ10 as a snapshot camera, but there are much better choices in the Panasonic range.
