After finally getting hold of the Sony Alpha A900, Matt Grayson sees if it's just as good as everyone seems to think it is.
The battery life is very poor and nowhere near 880 exposures which is what is claimed by Sony in all their publicity.
In fact, it would be a miracle if you got 200 exposures from a fully charged battery, which I consider to be a massive difference.
The camera itself and the resulting images, particularly with the Zeiss lenses are excellent.
Difficult to get lenses and accessories ( including batteries ! ) which appear to be special order with 4 to 6 week wait.
I have no problem with battery life, this camera is a joy solid with a view finder 2nd to none, a t £2000 its a no brainer as Sony make Nikon sensors and the fact that there are great minolta glass out there on ebay, I moved to Sony from Nikon with no regrets and sings with Carl Zeiss
