Celebrating the success of London 2012’s International Inspiration sports legacy programme, this collection of new photography by Rankin and a host of international photographers brings together striking portraits of International Inspiration’s Ambassadors, including Seb Coe, Colin Jackson, Denise Lewis and Tanni Grey Thompson alongside images of young people from around the world playing sport. The photographs convey the inspirational power of sport. Inspired by Sport is the culmination of work by International Inspiration, a partnership between UNICEF, the British Council and UK Sport to realise London 2012’s legacy promise to enrich the lives of 12 million children in 20 countries in time for this year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games. Each photograph conveys the inspirational power of sport and demonstrates how International Inspiration is harnessing it to address issues such as gender equality, lack of educational opportunities, gang violence, life skills development and HIV / AIDS education, through the power of inclusive physical education, sport and play.
