Millennium Images, Milim Gallery and Crane Kalman present the second year of the Peaches and Cream photographic exhibition. Following the success of the inaugural Peaches & Cream competition last year, Millennium Images offers photographers the chance to win a three-year contract and the opportunity to see their work published on the front cover of a best-selling novel as well as a cash award. The competition culminates with an exhibition, featuring eleven short listed photographers at DreamSpace Gallery in London.
The finalists have been selected by a panel of highly esteemed judges from within the photographic and publishing industries including Jason Shenai of Millennium Images, Richard Kalman of Crane Kalman Brighton and Richard Evans of Altantic Books. Alongside the outright winner there is also a Special Graduate Award. Both will be announced during the private view.
Jason Shenai states "It has been an absolute pleasure being part of the selecting and judging process and seeing the skill and commitment our shortlisted photographers convey. We have built on the success of last years exhibition and we are sure that this years show will be every bit as striking. Already looking forward to next years entries."
Millennium Images was founded in 1998 and is widely regarded as the first choice for creative imagery for licensing reproduction rights and commissions. Over the last 14 years, Millennium has built a collection of over 35,000 contemporary photographic art images from more than 800 photographers. Also at the private view, Millennium will be launching Catalogue V featuring work from more than 300 photographers.
Millennium represents the work of photographers including Simon Larbalestier, Edgar Martins, Corinne Silva, Nadège Mériau, Thomas Jorion, Simon Norfolk, Regine Petersen, Rosa Basurto, and Lydia Panas who have had their work published on book jackets by some of the top selling publishers within the UK and internationally. Recent work includes the covers for the Vintage edition of To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf, The House of Silk by Anthony Horowitz, The 500 by Mathew Quirk and Het Diner by Herman Koch.
