If you're upgrading to a Canon 400d and don't want to spend any extra money at present, I would suggest you use the Canon RAW editing software that comes with the camera export the highest quality .jpg conversion into PS7 for any addtional alterations you want to make .

Go to www.bechamdigital.co.uk.Forget books buy Barry's C.D.or D.V.D's for around 12/13 and they will teach you all you need to about Photoshop from "Elements to CS2".the big advantage is you can run them on your computer while working on your image, just minimise the cd until you need it. Also as Simon advises join a Camera Club. Regards Tony.

Was looking at the Ben Willmore book this morning in PC World and think it's probably better for a new user as I agree with Merl that the Martin Evening book does require some knowledge of CS to get the best out of it. For simple advice for what to do with your pictures then the Scott Kelby book is excellent. Tony

After that it is a run alone device so you can go direct to the internet via the wireless co...

Well, that sorts me out then! Ha ha. Thanks for all the help, now that you have said it, I see the point of it now. I usually like a pale blue background on my Windows Applications, but I understand the grey now. Something like an 18% grey card in traditional photography? Well, I will leave it grey, many many thanks for all the help, sorry I rattled a few cages but I got there in the end. C...
