I don't believe it !! ;) I have to say I disagree about DI workers - I know and admit the limitations. My job revolves around digital imaging and I have a couple of digital cameras myself, but I also have 6 film cameras, and when I went to Hamburg this weekend, I only took film. As far as "wet" printing is concerned, there are MANY photographers who can not find the space to print at h...

Gretzky was going to coach his Coyotes this season. As a Coyote devotee and former season ticket holder, that almost makes me glad there's been a lock-out all season. Gretzky was probably the gteatest ever to lace a pair of skates on, but as a GM/owner he hardly falls into that category. When the Ellman/Gretzky consortium bought the 'Yotes franchise, they promised to end the days of being pe...

Sorry Pete, but I do mean PM. I found too much of the photgraphy was not to my interest and several of the articles have been covered before or by other magazines too often. I also thought there was too much landscape, which could have been in OP. The Wild Life article was very good. But please remember, these comments in forum are only personal comments, through based on a varity of experienc...

You took and saw the picture Alan, well done and also well done for presenting it to us for comment and suggestions. P/S is a steep learning curve but great fun :-)

Instead of buying books as this can keep growing. Why not look at training CD's. Barry Thomas is the boss but his CD's are nearly 60. The other to look at is Barry Beckham, you will find him at Wantage Photo Club. He's very good.

Do yourself a favour and buy a lightmeter that will do incedent light readings. you'll find it more reliable than the camers own lightmeter howevever sophisticated the manufacture calim it is.

Books

Hi J. Forget the books,by far the best way is CD tutorials. My favorites are those by Barrie Thomas and Barry Beckham. You dont get bogged down with techy text and you can run them at the same time as you work on the image. Regards Tony.

Thanks everyone. Gone for the Mikkel Aaland book. The one by Barry Beckham also looks quite good from a quick scan in Waterstones. Iain

Elements books

I've got 'The Digital Photographer's Guide to Photoshop Elements' by Barry Beckham. Very useful starting at the basics and moving on a little. Excellent colour photos and step by step guides to most things you need to know. Also have 'The Hidden Power of Photoshop Elements 2' by Richard Lynch which gives you a disc with extra tools, yet to read this. Michael
