I guess that because Canon are selling at such high volume levels these days - that's an assumption I make btw - that their economies of scale have risen dramatically meaning that unit production costs will be down. If that's the case, it sounds like the consumer is gaining from the situation.

I Believe that new replacement is normally in the first 14 days, As strawman said exspect a week, lehmans in stoke who are authorised Canon agents promise in a week when I sent mine in.

I agree there is no point looking at pics at over 100% magnification. Cat, I had a quick look at your flickr page and the pics look sharp enough at that size, so I doubt if there is anything wrong with your camera... As said, We all make very silly mistakes, and you need to check all the settings before blaming the camera. This is what your course tutor should have done... If you get duff...

Steve thanks for your comment. At this stage I do not plan to spend any more on software (I really need a new lens next) so Lightroom and other Raw products are out. You may be right that I will have to start using DPP but I think I may do some tests and process some photographs in DPP and a parallel set converted to DNG then processed in CS3. Centurian, anyone who is processing 5D MkII Raw ...

More flannel based on actual canon marketing.... Canon's marketing on their .com site refer to the 1D series as the EOS 1 story, this matches the copy on the banner ad, which reads 'The EOS story continues'. This matches the look of the body being teased in this banner as it has no program wheel, all other body series have this wheel, only the 1D series doesn't. I've had this feeling for ...

Interesting comments above, I guess drizzle / rain are not classified as moisture ;-) EISA AWARDS FOR CANON Among the EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) awards for 2009-2010 are the EOS 5D Mark II (European Advanced Camera) and EOS 500D (European SLR camera). The judges commented: "The Canon EOS 5D Mark II is a worthy successor of the EOS 5D. The principle features remain th...

Canon 5D Mk II

I had a Canon EOS 1000FN. It was a very lightweight camera and I assume its digital successor is following in those footsteps.

James I wish you well with your sale. I think you'll get a decent price now you have some feedback. I reiterate to anyone interested in James' 5D II that I bought the 24-105 L lens from him and it was delivered immediately and in mint condition.
