I know, even Nikon and Sigma put the markings on their lens. It's canon that seems to be leaving them off on some of their lens. I think its because of the zoom factor that the aperture changes throughout the zoom makes the markings seem redundant.

David What on earth would anyone want with 200 photos of their family. Most customers would prefer 2 or 3 of their favorite photos on the wall in a nice frame instead of having loads of photos they have to put in to their cd rom to veiw. I think you need to know where you fit in to the market to be successful. The way i would describe myself would be that i provide a professional standard ...

Heaven forbid the owners sell them on ebay for decent money and you miss out at the charity shop Paul Not at all, dealers walk into charity shop and strip the shelves, they don`t want or need the stuff, its simply sold on for profit and people here wonder why they can`t find bargains.

To any would be DIY camera builders out there.I happened to see in a August copy of AP someone was advertising the fact they could make camera parts. They are precision engineers and can turn your drawings into reality- their words. They say they can do prototypes or small batch production. Just the thing I thought for those of you struggling to make focusing knobs or other bits and pieces for ...

You could also try making youre own lightbox, very simple..... Get a smallish piece of white transluscent perspex (say 400mmX400mm) and place a lamp underneath. This was how I did one of my more recent images shooting colour transparency film on a lightbox.

I think the lights they provide are interfit? As to the difference I would not know, just looking at buying myself. I would guess you get more control than the floodlights and that the floodlights may be a little harsh, but I guess if you rigged them up to a dimmer switch you may get some control etc.. The other thing could be temperature, not the light temp but the heat given off? ...

I looked at these kits and made a few enquiries at Maplins. There is one part advertised in their catalogue that is not even in stock yet in the country, heigho. One point I must bring to mind is Hviz use breadboards, rather an expensive way to assemble the circuit. I have used strip board and also made a PCB.let me know how you cope with this project.

Just in case anyone was interested, I've re-opened this thread. I found the perfect chair! It was on a Christmas trip to Bristol in their 'Circus' mall, there was a shop called 'Dwell'. There in the window was my dream chair! From the 'Retro Circles' range, a swivel dining chair. It has a pedestal and the seat sort of wraps itself around you - supporting the back beautifully. I love it ...

I have just started the GCSE photography course partly to learn how to use my camera properly and also because i enjoy taking photos. I am a bit daunted by the research involved in the assessments so if an one has any ideas on sites that are useful, i would be greatful

Yes definately, we need to have some sort of photography program - following an professional photographer around, watching somebody starting up a studio, an insight into running a studio. Are just some ideas. Ian
