That's probably because it is less cumbersome. Trouble is though, it's 6x6 so as far as I'm concerned it would make a very expensive doorstop. If square format is your thing then that's fine

Thanks William. It might well be the 500 sensors as it is from an old blad. Basically my uncle heard I was a bit keen and had seen my site so said: 'Did you ever think about using Hasselblad? I have 3 of them just lying about, I think they make digital backs now'. He used to be a pro at least in the 70s and 80s and I'm not sure which direction from there. Hence the reason I am trying to doa...

Thank you for the advice on achieving a Hollywood Glamour effect filmforever. Unfortunately I don't have the film equipment, facilities (developing space etc.) nor expertise in film to attempt it. I saw a documentary recently that involved a well known photographer 'trying' to recreate some of the old classic shots Watched it too. It was Rankin. Interestingly in this case, the assistant ...

No idea - I didn't get a normal one to compare against ;-) From the photographs I have seen comparing them it does offer slightly greater sharpness and detail. Given you can't recover such things once lost by an AA filter, and given that many people would pay the same amount extra between the D800/D800E on a lens for as much better or less, I kind of think it is worth it. The other way o...

It's nice to see that stop motion animation is still around. Cutting up a negative is just stupid too ...and meaningless. What's to stop a photographer taking the same photograph on a number of frames?

Adam, You are scanning slides and losing quality, and they look dark. This sounds as if the scanner is not set correctly. Dark areas can also be lightened in Photoshop. A scanned slide should resolve a great deal of detail. Jeff

LOL If the waiting is the thing then just stay digi and post your cf card to yourself. Hey presto, anticipation AND the knowledge that you wont be disappointed by crap shots you thought were going to be great. Crap shots - the sole perogative of the Digi boys who have to check every shot on the back of the camera to see if they've done it right...!!! ;)

As i know, digital backs used mostly for medium formats or large formats, but for 35mm i am not sure, in all cases, i prefer to use DSLR over 35mm film with digital back, but if i will use a digital back then i better buy a medium format or large format, i got digital medium format which is Hasselblad H3DII, couldn't be happier except that i want higher mp only.
