the Nvidia 7600, 8699, 8800, 9600 and 9800 have all been reported as having problems. My Nvidia is none of those. Glad too hear that Meredith and CB have found how to get it to work properly I didn't do anything other than install it! ;)

You could consider converting to Adobe DNG in Lightroom so that you can again embed the develop settings in the Raw file.

You're mis-naming it "Photoshop CS4 Suite". Also plenty of people on here also talk about problems with CS4 when they actually mean Photoshop CS4 (Photoshop version 11). Photoshop CS4 can be bought on its own for much less than £1372.00 CS4 stands for Creative Suite 4. It's a suite of Adobe applications, available in various configurations. Photoshop is just one single application...

Some seriously bad things would have to happen to the Mac before Adobe stopped development for it. I don't know why Apple don't use the money they're making from iTunes and iPods to produce cut-price loss-leader Macs in order to take more of the personal computer market.

You shouldn't really be doing the CMYK conversion. The printers should do that as to do it properly would mean knowing about the inks and paper being used in printing. The printers should know more about that than you. Thanks for your post, mlewis. I will speak to the printers about the CMYK conversion. The artwork is going to be printed at A4 and A3 so I guess I need to make sure both fi...

CS4 supports 64-bit, but if using it to process RAW images you will likely notice a drop in quality because Adobe's Camera Raw is generally considered to produce less good results than C1. I don't bother with ACR even though I have CS4. But it's up to you whether you consider the convenience more important than the quality, of course. :)

Agree with Cathy above that if you really want CS4, legitimately at lowest price, go for the student version. The only restriction is that it can't be used for any commercial purpose. Find a friendly neighbour or relative whose son or daughter is at uni or college or whatever, and get them to order it. This is not a breach of any terms, as these only stipulate that the software has to be ordere...

Try paying for your software... Then you can call Adobe support. "I would leech it i think as prices are stupid for some packages. like PScs4 or office 2k8 etc etc" wasnt an admission of piracy at all. just stateing i WOULD,if i couldnt afford, but i can. anyhows.... as it turns out (and ill accept that apology) IT IS canon, as i just received my memcard reader this morning. same files show...

Thanks again, Chris_L. I have printed out your post and have stuck it by my pc!! Thanks also to KevSB and digicammad. I have downloaded both packages and had a play this morning. Shape College is great fun although I see that you have to pay for the Pro version to get rid of the watermark. The collages on Picasa are also good.

Demands for proof of being a student is variable. Adobe requires a verification process, whilst Microsoft is less intrusive. Up to recently one could purchase a student's version of MS Office 2007 at PC world with no questions asked.

I was teasing you, pick your own decision OK :-) Come on seriously I do not think you have corrupted you grand daughter, it all sounds a bit Victorian drama any way. I could have picked up the simple baton you left..............
