Wedding Setup

Thanks James, yeah I would do it again, I would like to do it again sooner rather than later too, so that I can put into practice all that I have learnt while it is still fresh. As a lot of people have said, not much compares to the stress that you go through on the day, but once it all settles down, it is actually quite fun. ;)

I've just bought an INT103 Cool-Light from Interfit. I'll be trying it out with flowers this week, but the wine and grapes shots in my pf were lit with it. It's brilliant because it's daylight balanced. The maplin box with halogen lights works really well, but if you have daylight in the room as well, you'll end up with a blue cast on the flowers and stems. To correct this, I use a fliter to...

I've had my G2 for awhile, I've got a 850 coming now because I want the bigger zoom. I like my G2, it's got it's foibles but you learn to deal with them. The G2/G3 will have many more "functions" than the 850 is going to have. I like the stitch mode the canon has and the manual focus (which the 850 lacks) also occasionally comes in handy. The G2 also offers two more iso modes-200 & 400 (that...

Sorry, didn't log in for a while, good old work! Thanks for all your help. I've had a chat with the organisers of the projects about camera security, charging and the like and they've said it is now popular for their volunteers to take digital along. Charging is ok within the areas I'll mainly be based. With Cusco not too far away, and fast becoming a very well catered for tourist city, t...

OK just joined, pic looks good at 1000. Nothing new to add thought.......bloody weather. At least when it's raining you can get some kind of cloud detail, not this wall to wall fog. Diflas!

RANT: Links

I did a quick link tutorial, then Doug did his video, but in thread after thread you see people post a www address with an apology "Sorry I can't do links". Pop up blockers on not, it's pretty easy to type them in manually. I think vBulletin parses typed in links to real links but also truncates them. Take that a step further and if anybody types or pastes something beginning with http://...

...it is rude to attack people so why do you? you say: post an opinion by all means why should we if we get attacked for it? ..why comment if you do not like it? Like the pose on this and the lighting; arm maybe obscures the face a bit too much for me. Like the shot though. John seems to me john did like, it, and had an opion on how to make it better, yet you sti...

I think my attitude to this has changed in the time I've been using the site. To start with (and this relates to Malcolm's comment), it was to get a confirmation that I wasn't barking up completely the wrong tree, as I had no-one else who was interested in looking unless it was a picture of the kids! (Why have you taken a photo of a gravestone? Whats that??) I umm'ed and ahh'd over whether t...

As long as I get to interact with all of the very good photographers and enthusiasts on EPZ, I'm happy. I've learned so much in the past 6 months that I can't believe it. I know instantly whether people like my photos and why. And I get to see other photos in a clean and organized way and make comments. And I learn just as much by making comments as by receiving them. I get all the inform...
