Not only a self timer, but also a interval setting, so you can take pics of your self every few seconds for hours :-) lydia: I had forgotten about the music, turned it off straight away. Don't worry about asking any questions, just start a new thread anytime and I or other A2/A1 owners will be happy to help. You have probably got to grips with the A2 a bit by now, so what I'm going to sa...

But if video is not important it would be worth looking at the Ricoh CX5 at about half the price of the S100.

I'm considering dumping my old Olympus E-510 with kit lenses for the Fuji XS-1. I am very impressed with the picture quality of the XS-1. Just think, one lens, with probably all the focul capacity you will need and of high optical quality, one filter, one lens hood, superb ergonomics and handling, Mid range DSLR build quality and a EVF thats up there with the best. Its the complete package ...

I think it's an excellent choice. The EVIL (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens) camera has been so obviously the way to go for so long - smaller camera, smaller lenses, no mirror shake, no FF/BF etc. Panasonic have got the best offerings in this market and the G2 has a superb EVF. As always it depends on what you're photographing. The Micro 4/3 range doesn't have the best high ISO capab...

I think someone's organizing a dragonfly shoot around here sometime (Paxton Pits). Duxford airshows are always good, and locals know where the free seats can be had ;-)

I shove a Sony NEX 5 c/w 18-55 in my coat/ jacket pocket whenever I am going out and a DSLR seems inappropriate; the former takes stunning pictures; I took this yesterday at the London Boat Show with my Sony: As an aside (apologies OP) people were wandering around with DSLRs taking pictures; not a word was said by anybody about not being able to take pictures .... well done Excel!

Would you want me to put it as a 3in screen with millimetres in brackets? That would be nice :)

This response was really to Kathy's comment previous, which was on the original thread. Re the S5000, much of what I said for 602 still holds true. There is a site devoted to pics taken by the S5000. There are some great pics on this site. I don't think that there are any really bad cameras in this day and age. choose what suits you best, ie has the features you want. I stand to be...
