Adobe Photoshop

Go to www.bechamdigital.co.uk.Forget books buy Barry's C.D.or D.V.D's for around 12/13 and they will teach you all you need to about Photoshop from "Elements to CS2".the big advantage is you can run them on your computer while working on your image, just minimise the cd until you need it. Also as Simon advises join a Camera Club. Regards Tony.

Paul, I have just installed and successfully run the sample "hello world" action as detailed in the hidden elements tutorial in Elements 4. I would assume that if this still works then other actions should still run. cheers Al.

I started playing with PS about 3 years ago and although I've hardly accumulated any true insight into the programme I really enjoyed what I COULD do with it. From there I decided that to further my kowledge I would need images I'd made myself-SO I bought a Fuji s602z, not because I wanted to take photos -because I wanted to explore PS.Have kind of got hooked and got me an Olympus e300 and I s...

Just to say, the freebie 'picassa' software, from google, does a good job of B&W conversion, and also sharpens pretty well, as long as you have a quality file to start with. It also has a 'glow' filter, that i think would give you the look you are after. I've got some excellent results from it (much to my surprise). Its dead easy, and you obviously wouldnt require any P'shop skills! picas...

We are all individuals and what is intuitive to one person may feel very unwieldy to another. Too True. I have not yet managed to get a good digitally manipulated image :( ,but find Lightroom far far easier to learn, understand and use than Elements 3. LR V1.1 ( free upgrade) is coming soon... indications are there are some new features & improvements which appear to be welcome additi...

As collywobles says most Photoshop ones can be used too. We have many tutorials in our techniques section. Just select Photoshop or Elements from the drop down list to filter them.

There are a ton of tutorials to be found on the net, as has been said, but when I started out with PSE (v4) I found a book by Mark Galer very useful, as it talked you through a series of projects and came complete with DVD with video tuts and and sample images. Even the tuts I wasn't interested in for the sake of the type of pic (eg retouching a a beauty shot) still taught me stuff about the pr...

Its one of the debates I have been participating in for years on various sites and with various photographers and guess what, I don't care either way any longer. I at one time would get very hot under the collar if someone took at swipe at my photography and said "but its not real photography", and on other sites some people would criticize my art for having to much photography in it. Decided t...

PSP v Elements

PSPv8.10 works fine for me in XP and is quite stable. The patch from v8 to v8.10 is essential to stable operation though.

I followed a link to a monthly competition on EPZ from a photo magazine. I vaguely remember part of the prize was for the wining pic to be displayed on billboards somewhere...stayed around and had a look and realised it was just what I needed (didn't bother with the competition though...)
