I really need to stop hanging around after posting :p Give people time to reply :p I never bought a Pentax lens (the 18-55 came with my first K100 body) simply because I can't try them! Most of our work cameras are Canon (with a Nikon or two hiding in there) - so the only lenses I can try that will work on my camera (with a different fitment, obviously) are the third party ones... (hence the...

I don't know how the rebate will work, but from what I've gathered it will not be available outside the US. Seems to be a prePMA promo (which some think will run until Pentax's anticipated baby DSLR is ready to hit the shelves). Olympus is doing a similar thing with the E-1 too. It annoyed me when I discovered it was a US promotion. I'd like to get the *ist D, but can't quite stretch to it's...

Yes, probably around f8 but there are a lot of if's. Good contrast, good focus, good stability are just as important. A wide open aperture can throw the back ground out of focus and if the focus is good and there is no camera shake and there is good contrast the image will look sharper than it might with a background that is also in focus.. It is only digital photography that has cause...

That looks pretty much like the one I bought - see above. It'll give you the equivalent of about a 28mm lens, but you will get some barrell distortion, correctable in PS. If you screw the macro bit off the back , it gives you more or less a fisheye lens, which is great fun but there's a fair bit of colour fringing & some vignetting. As I say, great fun but nowhere near the quality of a DSLR & a...

Many, however, simply say what they do and tend to identify themselves with the external aspects of their lives, rather than look inward. Who we "really are" is getting into "Zen" philosophy. We are "no thing" is the answer, but being able to truly believe that takes many years of meditation and self-exploration. I agree completly Iain. After many, many years of meditation and self-explo...

Pentax ME Super. A wonderful little camera, which just fitted perfectly in the hand and handled superbly. When I accidentally smashed mine up, I replaced it with a P30t - very good, but just not the same. Current favourite, Minolta Dynax 7. All the controls fall to hand very well and it has a reassuringly solid feel to it. Doug
