Paul, I have just installed and successfully run the sample "hello world" action as detailed in the hidden elements tutorial in Elements 4. I would assume that if this still works then other actions should still run. cheers Al.

Photoshop

I have free Photoshop videos on my website and try to do it in an idiot proof fashion (which comes naturally!). I'm a copywriter by day so I'm used to putting complicated jargon into easy to digest language. I also have photo technique and photography marketing tips too. Hope it helps.

There are a ton of tutorials to be found on the net, as has been said, but when I started out with PSE (v4) I found a book by Mark Galer very useful, as it talked you through a series of projects and came complete with DVD with video tuts and and sample images. Even the tuts I wasn't interested in for the sake of the type of pic (eg retouching a a beauty shot) still taught me stuff about the pr...

Photoshop help.

The key to getting to grips with photo editing using Photoshop Elements or Photoshop is to keep things as simple as possible. If you get things right at the picture-taking stage, most images will require alterations to contrast and a bit of sharpening and not much else. An awful lot of courses try to get into the more nitty gritty tweaking of images. You need to walk before you can run. S...

Yes, and there's also Hidden Elements that adds a whole heap more. There are plenty of freebie downloads there too (including layer masks ;-) But, this technique is still interesting because of its simplicity ;-)

Thank you cattyal thank you for your idea, I already have A6 size blank greeting cards for folding in half. I think I could encorporate your setup. The only problem I seem to be having is the size of the image which should be 5.75"H x 4.00W to fit in half of the A6 greeting card. I have resized the image but for some reason which escapes me at the moment it only prints half the image. I now...

This tutorial is on the Adobe website- they have lots of stuff there which should help you get to grips with the program. Another tip is a Google search- I found that tutorial using "photoshop elements tutorial card" and the Adobe tutorial was the top of the list. You should be able to use that technique to find lots of tutorials to help you. If you get stuck at any point with it give us a s...

Dont forget that if you decide to manually paint a mask as opposed to using the quick select tool as in the tutorial, you can still use CS5's Refine Mask tool to refine the masks edges. HTH Stu :)

As collywobles says most Photoshop ones can be used too. We have many tutorials in our techniques section. Just select Photoshop or Elements from the drop down list to filter them.
