Does Photoshop make you a better photographer?
Just tried to enter 'photoshop' into my mobile, and the T9 predictive system came up with 'Photosins.' Who would have thought it a satirical mobile phone!

Does anyone else *not* use photoshop?
I started playing with PS about 3 years ago and although I've hardly accumulated any true insight into the programme I really enjoyed what I COULD do with it. From there I decided that to further my kowledge I would need images I'd made myself-SO I bought a Fuji s602z, not because I wanted to take photos -because I wanted to explore PS.Have kind of got hooked and got me an Olympus e300 and I s...

We have heard this many times before, Didital has made things a lot easier well for the mainstream of people who are getting into it anyway. I know without a doubt that digital photography has brought more and more people into this field and GREAT too. You see i am an old purist i loved nothing more than a roll of velvia in the back of my camera and away i went for days up the lakes or...

Love or loathe photoshop
.....is just pleased that they stand round debating the merits of his pictures while ignoring many good but routine images also being displayed. The peacock with the biggest and brightest display gets the hen..!!!!! ;)

As to Photoshop, I think if Ansel Adams had lived 10 years more, he'd have said, 'Cool! How much does this cost ?'. But we'll never know.

Has digital photography changed your life?
In a nutshell NO/YES. I took great pride in learning the Ansel Adams Zone system technique, which worked for B&W as well as for colour. With colour it was more difficult, as extended developing times could also change the colour cast and temperature. Further adjustments had to be made on the final print. But black and white almost become 3D with well balanced shadow areas. I am using...

Get it right on the day versus Photoshop
I've just started at the beginning of the thread and I'm not surprised at Chris's reaction, I've seen some bitching in my time but honestly I agree with the abuse report we've just received. I'm locking this one.

Time to buy Photoshop?
You've got PSP 8, why not upgrade to PSP X? It's usually only one or two versions behind PS (i.e. usually what PS has in this version PSP will have in one of the next two). I've never really understood how such an expensive program has become so popular with the general public who, like Tim says, probably only get 10% out of it. Ashley

business side of photography
I still have no clue on how to work photoshop however I am not relying on it for great shots. It could help me out in other ways. I have Lightroom and Photoshop. Lightroom is more useful in a professional work flow than Photoshop which is becoming more the province of an art editor/ designer these days now that it has become so all encompassing. The hard thing is knowing what you want to ...

Sorry Pete, but I do mean PM. I found too much of the photgraphy was not to my interest and several of the articles have been covered before or by other magazines too often. I also thought there was too much landscape, which could have been in OP. The Wild Life article was very good. But please remember, these comments in forum are only personal comments, through based on a varity of experienc...
