The higher the divorce rate the higher the potential amount of work for wedding photographers! (Remarriages etc Ah! So that's who the real instigators are, then!!! ;) jas

James As someone who I understood did portrait photography I am surprised you only lit the group with one light (Unless I misread the previous posts) Due to inclement weather I have had to photograph groups many times indoors (Particular winter weddings in Scotland) and a simple set up of two portable stands and basic flash guns and shooting through small white brollies works fine with th...

Well done in admitting your mistakes, I know many pros (myself included to a degree) who won't! Why make it your last wedding assignment though? You sound like you've made a good start, identified where you can improve and the no so good points you have highlighted form the basis of a good action plan to move forward. You just need to work through them now, addressing each one in turn.

Ah, I see. It must be the "a change is as good as a rest" effect then well a customer base of hundreds of young 18- 30s girls is very usefull, also wedding go on what ever the weather and are a little bit more glam than horse eventing not changing for good just altering the business model, out go non earning shows, income weddings and good earning hunter tirals etc [quote][un-pc joke] Mak...

Hi What i did when i took the photo's for my stepdaughter's wedding the other month. I got some of those Arrow Files photo sleaves and displayed them in that, with Ref No's so that people could look and choose the ones they want and just give me the Ref No. That way i found that i could use them again next time. Plus everyone gets to see all the photo's. Well it sounds like you had a good ti...

Nic, Thanks for your reply, you may be interested to know that I don't favour IS lenses for wedding work because I don't want the risk of having the function switched on and me merrily taking pictures before the lens settles down - about a second I believe. For my personal photography at a more leisurely pace I am happy with the IS function. Regards, Peter. P.S. Nice website :-) It ...

If my memory serves me correctly, On this forum some time ago, James offered to photograph another members wedding for the sum of 2500gbp, Again he is asking questions a complete beginner or someone who has taken some time to read the manual that came with his flash unit should know the answer to. If he has made any money from selling any photographs, he should invest in a couple of wedding and...
