If you really want to treat yourself how about the sexy Fuji x100 limited edition black kit + flash.

Fuji x100, limited Edition Black kit, including ER case. metal Lens Hood, metal Adapter Ring, Protector Filter £839

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-FinePix-X100-Digital-Camera/dp/B007A56EQM/ref=s...

    EF-X20 Flashgun £168

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-X-Pro1-EF-X20-Flashgun-Camera/dp/B007A2KCEU/ref...

Ok the x100s ships soon, but the x100 is still a very good performer, if you don`t need the blindingly fast autofocus.

    There is a review here.

Or just wait for the new fuji x20 compact ships costing around £500, and spend the change on a lovely holiday.

IMO - id go for the X100s. Ive been through the same thought process and came to the decision that if i need a camera with changable lenses ill just use my DSLR.

The X100s will be my walk around, on my all the time camera and figured that the X-E1 will just make me worry about bashing the lens, which sticks out a bit more than the x100s

Ive Pre Ordered an X100s and cant wait. Already made a list of projects to start when I get itSmile

Also, the X Pro 2 is due at the end of the year / start of next year.

Paul, that is a sweet deal and a holiday would be very welcome. I think the speedier focus on the s sort of does make a difference for what I do really. But mmmm.

George, I agree about the the lenses, I do see that a job for my 700. I too have a deposit down all be it only £5 so I am not worried about losing it.

Thoughts ping ponging around now......... A nice problem to have of course.

This new x20 that is coming out promises phase detection autofocus and a few other improvements over the x10, and there nice fun quality compacts made of metal, not plastic Smile

Spend the change on travelling route 66 Smile

At this rate of indecision I might just go to Vegas and blow the lot! X20, nice looking and I am sure will be a great camera - but more waiting......

Paul you are producing some great results with you X10.

The thing is I`m not going to recommend that you get a CSC, the problem is that people get hooked, so the initial cost of a body and lens soon becomes a whole lot more Smile

Yeh the x10 is still a good camera, it generally always seems to do well in group reviews, think it won a red dot award two years in a row, but I believe this x20 is going to be the dogs whatsits.

For me its the leaf shutters in these camera`s that make them really good, great for strobist stuff, flash sync`s at all speeds with none dedicated manual flash via a dumb lead.

Paul is right about not getting a CSC. You will find your DSLR gathering dust if you do! Wink

Good video, Paul - thanks for sharing. Smile

Quite something - the claim the latest Panasonic pro lenses out-perform their Nikon and Canon equivalents! That will ruffle a few feathers. Lol! Grin

Don`t know why the insert video feature no longer works Sad

I was out today with the GF2 and three lenses, the whole lot only weighed about 700 grams Smile

Gosh - can you shoot video that good with them as well?

Regardless of technical quality, I've always wanted to watch a film of a fat American talking into a lampshade against an in focus cluttered background about nigh cons. I can only guess what they are.

I'm tempted by the Panasonic fast zooms, but that film's kind of put me off...

I was referring to x100 not x100s which will have better sensor and processor.
