    Teleconverter does NOT work with a 400 f5.6 on a 7D..I know I got both and tried it.
    Now, Canon can and could give us 7D owners a firmware update to allow us to go that route, but they won't.

    If you got a nice 5Dmk3 then you be in luck. In March, Canon is turning out a Firmware update for it so that the 400mm f5.6 will work with a 1.4x converter to f8. LUCKY Burgers..

    Yes one rule for some and another for others....suppose we will all have tp upgrade to get it now....NO.
    Had to get a 2nd mortgage to get the kit as it was so can't get anymore...thanks Canon...
