Help... 1D mk 3 10.1m pixels or the 1Ds mk 2 with 16.7m. Both about the same price secondhand. I shoot sport so tempted by the 10 fps. Advice please. Thanks

Hi Sandwedge I have both cameras & they are superb at different things if sports are your thing I would have no problems recommending the 1D MK III.
It is a great camera for action with its 10 fps, if you shoot in jpeg a little less if you shoot in raw, the 10mp are more than enough to produce decent sized quality pictures if you use quality lenses ie L series.

    Hope this helps

I use the 1D mk3 and love it for sport - make sure you get one outside the autofocus issue or has had a fix - never had a problem with mine, locks and very few misses.

10mp is plenty large enough for me.

I also use 5D MK2 & 3 for other jobs but find you can get lazy with too many pixels whereas I get the crop right in camera with the 1D
