If you want to slow the game down then you pass it amongst your own team, take slow free kicks and throw in's a bit slower, and make slow substitutions, you don't fall on the floor for no reason or feign injury. Sad

I have to admit that Rivaldo went down in my estimation after that episode, not that it makes a difference to anything, he was laughing all the way to the bank. :-(

Thierry Henry as well, his handball against Ireland left a bad taste in the mouth.

It's getting all too common now though, and it's harder to find players you have respect for who act like decent human beings. :-/

Apparently Ferguson has had a work with Ashley Young, let's hope it has some effect. I'm a lifelong United fan and I hate it when our players cheat. I'm glad they seem to have got out of the habit of hounding the ref too.

I don't think they'll win the appeal though. Wink lol

Wow, you must have spent the majority of the premier league years hating your own team ! (What with having Ruud Van Nist, Ronaldo, Nani, Young and Mr Wooney himself, and that's just a short list)

I can only imagine Fergies little 'word' with Ashley, because I remember Jaap Stams Autobiography, in which admitted that old baconface had told them to dive in european matches. After that, it's only a small hop, skip and dive to the domestic leagues. LINKY HERE.

Or maybe it's just me ! Grin

Yep, it can be a game of three halves when they're playing.

In the quote, I added 'Manchester' in brackets because it happens that there're other 'Uniteds' out there whose fans have to stomach manu media sycophancy on a regular basis.

Regarding cheats - the persistent assertion that the old late, great Leeds team were a bunch of dirty cheats has become a bad joke in today's game. Mind you, we Leeds United fans can always see the funny side. I'm awaiting delivery Grin

Yes, Leeds were hated for some of their tactics over the years when they were at the top. I was not a lover of Leeds U. but I always felt that if Revie had given them a bit more free rein they should, and probably would, have won more trophies. I am an out and out Magpie, but in 1973 I had to supoort Sunderland for THAT one match. Keep it quiet though, or I will deny it completely.GrinWink

Once again, not enough ref-aid equates directly to not enough points ! (despite all the subtle decisions in their favour)

Looking forward to seeing highlights of the Utd v Everton game tonight. Smile

    You don't get many 4-4's.

Just looked at the thumbnail for the Ferguson post match interview. He doesn't look happy. Grin I'll save watching it for tonight. Wink lol

Remains to be seen whether I'll be looking forward to seeing the Liverpool highlights. Wink

Sweet win for Roy hodgson at Anfield. West Brom's first win there for 45yrs apparently.

Wolves, to the surprise of no-one, are relegated.

Can I just say, thank heavens that Argyle are safe !!!!! - What a terrible season. GOYG !!!!

No gloating, lads, re the result at Anfield. Times can be hard in all walks of life. When I heard that result I could not believe it. Put on Teletext to check results, and then the tables (Premiership, that is.) Toon are lying 4th. Had a look down the table but had to get my binoculars out to see where Liverpool are way down the table.Grin Mind they are above Sunderland so that is at least something to crow about. Best of luck to us all, I hope we all win something, and don't get relegated.WinkTongue

Once again, and on behalf of all fans who support some other United, I've taken the liberty of placing 'Manchester' in the appropriate place.

As to the outcome of what's been a two-horse race for the Premiership title ......sincerely hope Manchester City can pull it off. Yes. it's money versus money but non-ManU fans know what I'm on about Wink
