    I have just upgraded from a 350d to a 40d and i need a new cable release. Jessops tell me they have 50 on back order and i will have to wait at least a month. Is there an alternative make i can get, and are they any good ?

    Ebay - hong kong, probably about £3 ... buy 2 or 3 and they will be here in 5 days max.

    Try 7dayshop.com i got one from then for my 40D for £6.95
    and it works fine .

    Try MPB Photographic, it is a UK operation but cannot remember there exact location. They do a compatible set up for about 20 quid, if my memory is right. Works fine on my EOS 1VHS and my EOS 40D. Their service was very quick.

    Kea Photo an ebay shop. They ship from HK but i have nothing but praise for them! Aprox £3-4 and even under £20 for a genuine one if i remember correctly.

    i had one for my canon 400d on order for a year still not got it so i got it from a other shop
