    And this one

    http://www.eoshd.com/content/6941/canon-5d-mark-iii-safari

That top one certainly looks like 5D and consensus seems ot be that the original set of photos was a combination of 1D and 5D models.

It is interesting that someone has scratched out the lettering under the screen. But it does seem to have been done on the camera itself rather than in post-processing.

The 'RATE' button is causing some discussion - is that for shooting rate or for rating images on the hoof (the act it is in blue suggests the latter).
The Q button is where I would prefer it - on the 7D it is top left and it seems strange to have to hit there when all the shooting controls are on the right.

There must be a new canon full frame camera on the way because everyone that wants a 5dmk2 has got one and not many people will by the canon 1dx. I think the canon 1dx will come out and once a few people have bought it a 5d mk3 will be released.

    I remember Lucian (MK1) has boldly predicted the announcement of 5D2 replacement 1 - 2 years ago.....Smile

The latter, same as the 1DX

    "Rate Button"

It sure wouldn't be something useful like a mirror lock up button now would it

    Not not from Canon

At least its not a direct print button

The other images are showing the new 100-400 F4 and 600mm lenses

Maybe the 'Rate' button is linked to your Facebook account so you can 'Like' stuff when you are out taking pictures......

Though, it may be ( in all seriousness ) a dedicated button to tag images that you want to keep ? You know, like a lock, or to 'star' them.
It is in the same colour as the other viewing buttons....though that would be silly....

And the logo doesn't look scratched off, looks just like a small bit of gaffer tape is stuck over it....

Yes, but gaffer tape or no, it's immediately obvious that it's a Canon.

My hope is the Rate button is for video frame rate.
