Ah but that (thankfully) doesn't make it South East England. Next you will have the Scots telling us that we are all in the South!

Quite right Bri, otherwise all the meets to which Anthony goes would have to be called 'The circular meet'.

I know that, I was being facetious with my first mention of SE ! Although having said that NW make me think of Manchester/Liverpool/Preston area, whereas Harrogate I would put NE.

But as I said it was a joke, obviously not a very good one, but not meant to be taken seriously.

And all the ones Sooz goes to would have to be called "The no idea, better call a cab meet"

Don't worry Lou, everything posted in an NW Meet thread is assumed to be a joke. We don't stand on ceremony. Or smileys Wink

I agree Lou, Harrogate is more NE than NW, but only just and we like it there. Besides it's as far West as we can get those Yorkshire tightwads to travel!

The original meet was organised by (and for) NW people. It ended up being in the North (not NE, that's Geordie land) and people came from far and wide (including Scotland, Northern Ireland, the heathen South, etc).

The name just stuck. This will be our 7th annual NW Meet, I think

Just in case you are confused, Bri is an honorary Northerner even though he deserted it for the sunny climes of the Winnick Triangle.
