Dear EPZ Team and members.
I think that a useful addition to the site would be a special gallery to cover the topic of Photo Journalism and I have a proposal for that.
1 The gallery starts with a visible text title and a headline image.
2 On selecting a topic you are taken to another gallery with the first image on display, a text box underneath and a strip of up to six more thumbnails displayed showing others in the series.
3 People use their daily allowance to upload images, but they can only be seen on completion of the series.
4 Comments and ratings etc, as per the normal gallery.
5 Limited to no more than 1 series a month per member.
It should result in no more file storage space for EPZ, and may allow people to develop a theme and way of working.
Any thoughts?
Regards John
Not another gallery?! Sorry, but it sounds complicated and doesn't add much (if anything!) over what we already have, apart from more confusion.
Many people already, very successfully, display a series of photo journalism images in the portfolio.
Lost me completely.......Duh!
Could see an 'In The News' Gallery, as a topical thing. But a series of pics?
It is more than just news. For example if you try and cover a subject in a series of images.
For example I saw a great porfolio covering dissabled children in a dissabled school. It covered the joy fn and frustration they face. One photo on its own, not so good, 10 or so tell a story.
How about a link to the other site so we can take a look at the kind of thing you mean?
You could always post one image with a link to the series which you could host on Photobucket or Flikr.
It saves having an epz folio of similar images, saves server space on epz and tells the whole story - if people are sufficiently interested to follow the link.
I posted one image recently with a link to the series.

Or you could post it as modifications to your initial image.
Well then become an e2 member. A dim view will be taken of external links setup to avoid becoming an e2 member.
