It all started when I decided to free up some shelf space for the pile of magazines growing on the floor. I thought I'd have a look through some old mags, see if they were worth keeping.
Well, I started off just over 5 years into the past with issue 6 of Digital Photo FX. Well blow me !!
The first thing that stood out was how far ahead of the game DPFX was. A lot of what they were doing (not all by any means, but a fair bit) stands out against the stuff other mags are just doing now. Barry Beckham and Barrie Thomas had some cracking tutorials and the gallery was full of great stuff. Well, I say full but what I mean is, there is a far amount of crap, but there is some really good stuff there. This is five years ago.
Next thing that gave me a laugh was the PC specification you should aim for. 350 Mhz (half the speed of the machine I just retired
