    Sorry only just come across this, should have PM'ed me, yes indeed it's a Poplar Hawkmoth......See my p/f. FYI Elephant Hawkmoths are pink in colour.....Good capture BTW....

    Yep still toying with it Linda......Things are just a little hectic at home at the moment, plus the fact I've done my spine in again!!.....It's getting a chuffing joke now, well it would be if it weren't so bloody painful......I just hope I don't have to have another op Sad Knees are shot now as well according to my GP......Oh woe is me Smile

    I'm interested, been interested in moths and butterflies since I was a teenager.
    It's the thousands of microlepidoptera that got me confused.
    I just file those as "little moth" and carry on with the bigger ones ...

    Hope you get better - but if you can't heal, I find that Zapain (500mg paracetamol, 30mg codeine) is excellent !

    Unfortunately because of things beyond my control I won't be able to organise this for at least this year......
