Hi carrie.
Their are more none paying members than payed so don't worry about that.
As for the one upload per day that applies to everybody.

The only difference is that if you pay you can upload up to 16 images into your profile or however many needed to get you to at least 16 in one go. After that you are back to one a day.

You get a few other perks as well - you can set any photo for the critique gallery (no votes) rather than just one a week as a regular member. Also you get a few more nifty menu options in your profile.

I am sure there are a few more things - but suffice to say you can still use the website well without being a paid member

There are female members, I just happen to not be one, sorryWink

I did try the cross dressing it did not work Smile

anyway welcome to the site. Pay, well that is your choice. It gives you advantages like

bigger images 1000 x 1000 look great on the web
Modifications, where another member can upload a a variant of an image you posted, good if you have questions on editing or cropping.
Some statistics, some people love them others hate them

But a lot can be gained from ordinary membership.

Oh and you get to do exhibitions That link is to an obscure one, but it can be a challenge to build an exhibition.

I'm a lay-dee Smile

Seriously though, there's loads of sites where you can upload as many pics as you like - but none where they'll receive the same amount of attention (if the pics are attention-worthy).

Swearing at long term members won't go down well though.... And EPZ is almost unique on the web in terms of members generally not speaking in txt talk (hoo-blooming-rah!).

Anyhoo, welcome, settle in and enjoy yersel.

Hi Carrie - a warm welcome from me (female member) take no notice of the lads - they're 'armless really Wink just like to make themselves heard occasionally!! Andytvcams is right, there are plenty of non paying members, just use the site as you feel fit to begin with and then if you feel you want the extras that E2 has to offer you can join then.

Carrie, it is my experience that the site works well on

Genuine requests for help (i.e how do I ??)
A bit of leg pulling and general humour
And it can be supportive in learning on a variety of topics
Plus the meets are good fun.
So plenty of inspiration.

But people can get hung up on
- Spelling/punctuation
- Depth of field calculations and effective focal length
- some brand loyalties
- conspiracy theories

and most important of all, click threads (Why does no one like my.... Why do bad photo's get votes)

But honestly most people are helpful and fun...

Hi Carrie,
Welcome to the site. It is the best site to join (in my opinion) for help. Everyone is so friendly and really help when you have a problem.

Anyway as you use the site I'm sure you'll come arcoss some fantastic images taken by both female and male members and don't forget our wonderful junior members as well!

Welcome to epz, you've made a good start by posting here and uploading to the gallery.

I think most people wait a while before considering the added extras of E2 but if you use epz fully you can save in the cost of paper mags.

Explore the site, look at the tutorials etc. including ephotozine.TV enter the competitions and challenges, spend time looking at the work on here and joining in the fun.

But do be aware that your time is no longer your own.Wink
