    Hello Dane.
I always find my local library best for these book and free of course.
If you find one that is useful take photo's of the bits your most interested in and you have a permanent record ( a bit naughty I suppose )

I have Elements 4 too, and cannot find a good instruction book anywhere here in Crete. Is there anyone in Crete/Greece who could advise me as to where I could get one, please?

Photoshop Elements 4 for Dummies is good and costs £16.99 or you can look for it in your local library.

Another vote for Scott Kelby - his humour irritates some, but he's damn good..his books are not about "look how I achieved this" instead he gives clear examples of where to put the various sliders etc. and shows the results... I've not met another book type like it...I recently took a chance on "Elements 7 for dummies" and was completely lost - what a waste of money... (for me anyway...) I await the day when Scott release his version covering Elements 7 and I'll be first in the queue...

    I've also got PSE4....

One of the best books I've come across is "How to cheat in Photoshop" by Caplan.

It's actually aimed at the grown-up version of photoshop rather than Elements so it tells you about some things that Elements can't do, but as long as you bear that in mind it's really easy to read and there's some great tips..

I used The Missing Manual for a different version of PSE when I had it and found it very comprehensive.
