Can you use af assist to help auto focus in very low light ie landscapes at nite or would be no use at all, to use af assist what would you have to do in the custom menu sec 40d. I see there is an enable a disable and only ext flash unit so how would i just use the af beam but not the flash
thanks for listening

Hi Chris
I dont see your idea working as the range of the flash is very limited, I would suggest a tripod and manual focus for night time lanscapes as you will still have a very long shutter speed with or without flash af assist.
