Most car names are boring. How much livelier things would be if cars had mor amusing, apt or interesting names, perhaps describing the car or their drivers!
By the way, this may look similar in tone to the cover band names topic but it's something I've only recently thought about putting up here.

I'll start with a few examples, with the usual names in brackets. There's both old and new.

    Audi Foolscap (A4)

    Audi 420x297 (A3)

    Citroen Cross Dresser (C-Crosser)

    Ford Mundane (Mondeo)

    Nissan Jerk (Juke)

    Renault Welsh Woman (Megan(e))

    Ford Older Woman (Cougar)

    Ford Chocolate (Galaxy)

    Vauxhall Meldrew (Victor)

    Vauxhall Coarser (Corsa)

    There must be plenty more.

I was in the motor trade for 35 years and I've heard most of them.
I remember when Vauxhall first brought out the 'Vectra'and we had a launch day at Luton, Some body in the dealers group said why have you called this new car after a 'Fly Spray. Apparently it was the name of a fly spray some where in the world. There were a few red faces.

Fiat were just as stupid when they named a car 'Strada' why would I want to buy a car called 'Street'.

The Renault Clio was popular amongst young girls which the adds on TV were aimed at that the trade called it the Renault C----s

Fords were known as Fixed Or Repaired Daily

The Honda Jazz was originally to be named the Fit, but someone told them it was far too like fitta, which is Norwegian for the female orifice beginning with 'c', and which in teenager slang is referred to as 'her fit'
