After an android app for walking /hiking similar to edomondo but one that allows you to plot and add way points as you go.

i use the free google app, My Tracks.... although it isn't very feature packed, but that's why i like it, as it keeps the battery drain down.... i tried endomondo, and found that it ate the battery too fast.

Back Country Navigator is just incredible for the money. Full OS maps for the whole of the UK included in the price, which was around 6 when I bought it last year. If you're going somewhere a bit remote, you can pre-download the maps you'll need to your memory card.
