Hello people
I recently bought a shiney new iPad (2nd gen), idea being it would be a lovely display to show off the pics I take with my lovely new camera when it comes! I was impressed by the display specification, at least resolution wise. The chap in the shop demo'd the 'sharpness' by comparing with a previous iPad 2 on an ebook and the difference seemed fairly obvious.
Now it is at home and I am comparing with my iPad 1. One thing that some people may not realise, although it does seem obvious is that if you have a 16gig iPad 1 that is nearly full with your photo library, that library will not fit on an 16 gig iPad 2. This is because the iPad 2 has a higher dot count screen and the software optimises the pics for the device on upload.
The other thing I notice is that. The device seems brighter, but I'm not sure about the colour range. I have kindle installed and the splash screen has a graded colour. This grade shows 'steps' on both devices.
So, what am I saying?
For all you IPAD gurus out there:
I use Flickr especially the slideshow function, as this is flash based do you know of any solution to using the feature?
Thanks
Quote: Its a shame they do not fit an SD card slot on the apple. Such a simple solution.
....and a USB port.
(The cynic in me says that it is Apple's perverse take on "future-proofing". Instead of future-proofing their gadgets, they try to future-proof the gullible owners by locking them in to their proprietary brand. I have just "inherited" an iPad 1 from my wife who has "upgraded" to an iPad 3 - and I can't think of any reason that I will want to use it. The Kindle app is pure ***** compared to a real Kindle, I can't download images to it directly from my camera (or card) and, otherwise, it doesn't seem to do much that my iPhone can't do - at least not anything that might interest me.)
