Right or Wrong this country is at war no matter how far we are away from the war zone, which we all seem to forget at times, Giving up a few moments of time to answer a few questions to the Police is not a great hardship when we have brave young lads fighting oversees.

Notice I said the police and not security, the Police dont have the right to ask anyone to delete so is this such a great hardship under present situation.
all I see is articles every few weeks blowing it all out of proportion, Im sure for every one who makes a drama of it there is 100 who pass a few mins and laugh about it with the police officers.
Nice to see them on the street being vigilent tbh when we see so little of them around

But they were not, a security guard at a nearby office complex called the police.

It will only end when the Police Management stop issuing press releases, apologies and guidelines, that officers blindly ignore, and starts disciplining officers who step out of line.

And when they go further bring them to court as we have done here in Ireland.

Quote: A statement from City of London Police said: "Security staff at a City bank reported concerns over the apparently hostile behaviour of a man taking photos of their staff.

Whilst its easy to jump on the police for this, Its also easy to see that the photographers attitude to the security officers, In the first instance, Did not actually help his cause.....!!!!

If you start of with a stroppy attitude, No matter what your doing, Don't be suprised if it back fires.....Wink

I have no sympathy with the photographer ........... he was stupid enough to get bolshy with the police - they were only responding to a call. It was the security guards who overstepped the mark but only in asking for his details.

which they have no legal right in LAW to do so, nor him to give.
he should make a complaint of harassment.

Over responding..... if you ask me lol.

I wonder when we call the police as Joe Public, why we dont get that sort of response but a private security company can or so it seems.

I do agree the attitude of the TOG perhaps did not help his corner but without being there or seeing both sides to the story its hard to comment on that aspect.

Kevin has got it spot on for me, it's about time some photographers got rid of the chip on their shoulders and just give their details, nobody can take your gear and nobody can ask you to delete images without a warrant so stop whinging, give your details and it will all be over very quickly and you can move on

It does seem the photographers attitude didn't help at all. I have taken loads of shots there and never had any trouble at all.
I seem to remember being asked by one of the guards what I was photographing and I took the time to explain the sort of shot I was after and the sort of things I like to shoot. We had quite a nice chat as I snapped away.

Sometimes the guards are just bored & interested in someone doing something different.
