Are there ay 550Ex users out there? I've inherited one (not recieved yet) and was wondering if anyone has linked one to a 430EX with any success......

Sorry not used with a 430EX, but I've 2 x 550's that I use set to master and slave, so I expect you should have no problems..

i have used both and still do for portrait shots but i use a canon st-e2 to trigger them .

I have recently brought a secondhand 430 to use with my 550 & it seems to work fine . I think all of the EX guns will communicate with each other but some functions may not be available due to added features on the newer guns. When I get some free time,I' ll be able to use them properly.
