Does anyone know if I can use Aperture and the adobe camera raw together?
I bought Aperture (version 1) a while ago never thinking that I'd be able to afford the full version of Photoshop and have been rather stunned (and very happy!) to find my family have clubbed together to treat me to CS3 for my 30th.
I have to say I much prefer the Bridge/Camera Raw method of converting to a .psd than Aperture's equivalent, but at the same time I don't want to lose the organisational capabilities of Aperture. Is there a simple way I can do both?
I've tried setting Aperture to open files in Bridge rather than PS but it converts them to a .psd when it exports them. I've tried accessing my Aperture library from Bridge but that seems a no go zone.
Am I missing something?
Or is the answer to edit everything before importing to Aperture?
Or flog my copy of Aperture and invest in Lightroom 2?
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks
Emma
Aperture is a raw converter AND digital asset management program. Unless you do all your raw conversion with PS and then import into Aperture, I don't see how you can incorporate Aperture into your workflow.
In any case Aperture 1 is dreadful, slow clunky, and unstable. Aperture 2, on the other hand is much better - better that Bridge/PS IMO.
